Volunteering in Africa is a life-changing experience - even for the volunteer! Yes, your energy, enthusiasm, time, and skills truly have the power to change, even save, many lives – and at the same time you're helping accomplish a vital, meaningful project, you're likely to find that the experience is changing you too. You'll be giving much of yourself, but you'll receive much in return!

What to expect during your volunteer experience

Getting your hands dirty. You will be involved in renovating, building and maintaining a medical clinic in the heart of the Iraqw homeland, adjacent to scenic Lake Manyara. You will bask in the thanks and smiles of the Iraqw villagers as they watch you transform their only medical facility, which is so vital in all their lives. After working hard, you'll have opportunities to enjoy cultural interactions with the local children, an orphanage visit, hiking around the Great Rift Valley, cultural home visits, and bonding with your fellow volunteers around the camp fire. You'll fall asleep under the African stars after a good day's work, surrounded by new friends and the sounds of evening African wildlife.

We hope that some will be able to join us for the entire period of October 17 – November 1. However, those who can't have the option of joining from Oct 17–26, or from Oct 23–Nov 1. These time periods include travel days to and from the US.
